Hi Valerie. I just wanted to share this photo with you of Jordan chopping up a pumpkin. A silly thing, but it would have been a dangerous thing a year ago, and we are thankful God used you to help her heal.
I have been having Acupuncture sessions with Val Hanna over the past 5 years and want you to know what an excellent Acupuncturist Val truly is. Val has treated my sinus infection/joint pain and intestinal issues with great relief to the problem. Val’s technique is efficient and relaxing and her knowledge base extensive. Val is an excellent listener and reassuring in her sessions that bring a sense of relaxation. I encourage everyone to try this modality of healing with Val and see the difference it can make in your well being.

Lori Holtberg Valerie Hanna, is truly the BEST. I make my monthly appointments a priority in a busy world we live in. I could not be active and live life without her talent. My life is 95% asthma free and have reduce fibromyalgia symptoms by 80%
My 11 year old daughter, Jordan, had been allergic to a few foods for several years, with mild symptoms. Suddenly she began having reactions to several new foods, and the reactions started affecting her throat to the point where we took an EPI pen where ever she went. In addition, most of her food allergies would be triggered through the air, even at large distances. She started getting daily headaches which were not relieved by any means, and caused her to have serious trouble sleeping. She was no longer able to be out in public because she was allergic to sunflower oil through the air, and that ingredient is in skin and beauty products used by many people. Her world was limited to our home and we had to carefully remove all products containing any allergen from our environment, indoors and out.
I knew she needed aggressive intervention or her life would be completely limited and perhaps even continually at risk. Her allergist told us traditional allergy shots were risky given how sensitive she was to her allergens. Our functional medicine doctor told us that N.A.E.T. is what she needed. He also mentioned that the skill of the practitioner was crucial to the success of the treatment. We had trouble finding a provider that didn’t have a long waiting list, but then we found Valerie Hanna.
Valerie was able to see Jordan right way and after just a few visits we were already seeing improvements. Following the previous steady decline in Jordan’s health, it was astounding to see a turn for the better. We continued faithfully with one to two appointments a week, removing one or two allergies from Jordan’s long list with each visit. The day she could eat a chip containing sunflower oil, which days prior would have started closing up her throat if she was in the same room as it, was an emotional and awesome day. We had been utterly convinced this technique was amazingly and powerfully affective.
After Valerie treated Jordan for the foods we knew made her symptomatic, she still had unexplained headaches that didn’t seem to be triggered by any food. Valerie was patient, persistent and intuitive in her pursuit of the remaining causes of Jordan’s headaches. She listened closely to Jordan’s symptoms, her previous health history, and her emotions. Valerie persisted until she found that the residual titanium from a leg surgery was triggering an allergic response. She treated for titanium and the headaches dramatically improved. Valerie again persisted and found that the silicone on Jordan’s glasses nose piece was also a problem. After silicone was cleared, Jordan’s headaches all but disappeared. We will continue with a few more appointments to find the last allergen that is causing her remaining very occasional headaches, since we know this method is what can relieve them.
To say that Valerie’s treatment was life changing for Jordan and our whole family is a major understatement. I cannot say enough about how well Valerie practices the powerful technique of N.A.E.T.. Her compassion, calm demeanor and sense of humor helped Jordan feel comfortable and confident that she could get better. Valerie saw Jordan as a whole person and integrated that view into her treatment to phenomenal effect. Today Jordan can eat foods that she has avoided for most of her life. She has no airborne food reactions whatsoever. The only food she does not eat is peanuts, out of an abundance of caution, because peanuts are a particularly difficult allergen. But she no longer notices if they are in her environment so we know she’s much safer around them. Her activities are not restricted in any way by allergies. In short, her life has been given back to her, and it’s healthier and happier because of Valerie’s care. We will always be thankful for her!

If you or someone you love suffers from asthma, you know how scary this condition can be. Asthma is a chronic lung disorder in which your airways become obstructed and cause symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness, wheezing, and coughing. While asthma is considered to be chronic, it’s also characterized by acute attacks, which can be life-threatening. During an acute attack, your airways become inflamed and thickened, and the muscles surrounding them spasm, causing chest tightness and severe shortness of breath
Who Gets Asthma?
The incidence of asthma is on the rise. Right now, it affects about ten percent of children and eight percent of adults, however those numbers are increasing. Scientists report that the number of people with asthma and allergies is growing due to:
-Increased pollen in the air due to changes in climate
-Higher concentrations of pollutants in our air
-Indoor spaces that are energy proofed and unable to breathe
-The overuse of antibiotics
Treating Asthma and Recognizing Triggers
While asthma is considered to be a chronic condition, there is good news in that it can be controlled. Traditional Western treatments for this condition include the use of a rescue inhaler for acute attacks and medications to control the symptoms and decrease inflammation in your lungs. In addition, if your asthma is triggered by allergies, your doctor may recommend a series of allergy tests to determine what substances are causing your symptoms.
Understanding the triggers for your asthma is an important component of controlling your symptoms. Some common triggers that may set off an attack include allergies, exercise, cold air, smoke, pet dander, mold, dust, certain foods, and having a cold or the flu.
Some people have turned to complementary medicine for help with their asthma. Many have found that acupuncture can be helpful, and research is beginning to back this up. Some early clinical studies have found that acupuncture can help with chronic asthma symptoms and reduce the amount of medications needed to control attacks. In many cases, your practitioner would combine acupuncture with other healing treatments, such as Chinese herbs, food therapy, and lifestyle modifications.
Help may also be found for your asthma in the form of NAET which is a therapy that combines theories from Western medicine, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, kinesiology, chiropractic, and nutrition. If allergies or sensitivities are the underlying cause of your asthma, your NAET practitioner can help determine what substances are triggering your symptoms. Your practitioner would then work through a protocol to relieve your allergy or sensitivity, one at a time. In adults, acupuncture may be used, but NAET is safe and can also be performed on children, using acupressure instead of acupuncture.
If you are prone to asthma attacks that restrict your breathing, it’s important that you have a rescue inhaler on hand. However, it’s also valuable to know that through complementary treatments, recognizing triggers, and good self-care, you may be able to control the severity and limit the frequency of your asthma symptoms.
In their search for answers, many parents of children on the autism spectrum turn to complementary medicine to reduce their child’s symptoms. One such therapy is called NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique). It’s based on the theory that we are surrounded by all kinds of chemicals, additives, and toxins in our environment or foods. In many cases, allergies and sensitivities to those substances are the underlying triggers that actually worsen a child’s symptoms.
Beyond the symptoms associated with autism, allergies and sensitivities can cause a wide variety of health issues. Many respiratory and digestive problems are related to allergies. Less obvious symptoms include, muscle and joint pains, mood and behavioral issues, and skin problems . NAET is a therapy that targets those allergies as a way to alleviate associated symptoms.
NAET combines principles from Western science, kinesiology, acupuncture and Oriental medicine, chiropractic, and nutrition. It’s based on determining what substances are triggering symptoms. The practitioner then treats the patient to relieve sensitivities, one allergen at a time. This is done through a combination of muscle testing and acupressure. If the patient is willing, acupuncture may also be used. It’s important to note however, that NAET can be done with acupressure only. This means that in treating children, needles would not be used. NAET can be performed on patients of any age. However in treating children with autism, it’s most effective on children below the age of ten.
If you believe that allergies are affecting your life or that of your child, NAET may be the answer. Contact me for a free consultation to see if I can help.
